School Council

The school council has established pupil voice throughout the school and ensures that learners are able to make a positive contribution in keeping with ‘Every Child Matters.’

Two representatives from each year group are elected by their classes and meet regularly with the Headteacher.

Examples of changes that have been instigated as a result of school council meetings are:

  • determining the fundraising events for Red Nose Day and the BBC Children in Need appeal, e.g. ‘Buriton’s Got Talent’

  • planning the design of the Timber Trail

  • instigating the children lining up in the morning before school

  • made contributions to the Behaviour and Anti-bullying policy

  • chose the designs for the refitting of the children's toilets
