Come along to find out more at our free talk for Parents on 30th September at 7.00-8.30pm at The Studio in TPS

What is it?

Smartphone Free Childhood is a grassroots movement of parents who believe childhood’s too short to be spent on a smartphone.

Parents have been put in an impossible position by the tech companies. It’s a lose, lose situation - either allow our children access to something all the evidence tells us is damaging, or say no and risk alienating them among their peers at a crucial stage of their social development. We believe something needs to change, and it starts with all of us.

The attached sheet describes some of the dangers of children having smartphones. These include:

  • Harmful content
  • Addiction
  • Academic distraction
  • Grooming
  • Cyberbullying
  • Mental illness
  • Experience blockers

As a cluster of schools in the Petersfield area, we are delighted to welcome Jennifer Powers from Papaya (Parents Against Phone Addiction in Young Adolescents) to talk to parents about helping families get a healthy balance with technology.
